# Get the directory of the current file

Bun provides a handful of module-specific utilities on the [`import.meta`](/runtime/module-resolution#import-meta) object. Use `import.meta.dir` to retrieve the absolute path to the directory containing the current file.

```ts /a/b/c.ts icon="https://mintcdn.com/bun-1dd33a4e-farm-358a28fe-postgres-stmt-close/ZiHckQpPh-tqApHi/icons/typescript.svg?fit=max&auto=format&n=ZiHckQpPh-tqApHi&q=85&s=27fd470010e380e5a920fd3ee9f3bae6" theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"dracula"}}
import.meta.dir; // => "/a/b"
